Must-Read Book

I love the world of blogging. It's a place to share pictures, emotions and opinions. An outlet. A way to promote things we love, and to criticize those we don't (well, I don't exactly get to do that, but it sure would be nice!).

One thing I love is reading others' blogs and articles. Russ Masterson, a friend of mine since playing the courts at Doug Bowie Tennis Center, is an incredible writer and person. I find myself going to his blog and I am always blown away at his unique and hilarious perspective of the world and how he can bring it all together as a lesson in Christianity. He has written several articles, this one being my absolute favorite as a parent:

So, I am completely pumped that he now has published an e-book!

40 Days without Food: Divine Goodness to a Starving Soul

It is available on the Kindle, Nook, and iPad (via the free Kindle app for iPad). Below is a book summary or jump to his site for details: http://www.russmasterson.com/.

“I had a college degree, and soon a seminary degree to accompany it, yet I didn’t know where to go or what to do.” Russ Masterson had read and heard about purpose, but didn’t have a clue what his own purpose was. And there was emptiness where there should have been value. As he puts it, “I kept hoping a step would arrive when it was time to lift my foot.”

Disillusioned with his life, as well as with God, he heard this advice: fast from food for 40 days. Faithless and frazzled, Russ accepted the challenge, hoping for direction, reflecting on the past, and wrestling with issues like purpose, faith, and love.

In this book, readers will find a fresh literary voice — an insightful thinker who meets people in their humanity while helping them to see they can be rescued from it. The journey of these forty days without food will help you explore what really matters in life.

I cannot wait to get a hold of my mom's book reader over vacation, so that I can read this book! Go out and get it! Russ is such an inspirational writer, that without even previewing any of it, I know the book is a must-read!
