11 months old!

Unbelievable. I can't believe that in a month, our baby girl will be a year old. It is so crazy to me how much babies change/grow/progress in such a short time. I don't know exactly where she got it from because Derrick and I aren't exactly stand-up comedians, but Abbey is funny. She always wants to be center of attention, and will quickly let you know when she's not getting enough. She has a fake laugh and a real laugh. Her real laugh happens when she is tickled, when Mommy does squats and lunges (yes, I think we would all laugh at that), and when she is chasing us in the walker. The fake laugh is when other people laugh. She does a fake, back in her throat laugh. I must capture it on film to describe!
Little Miss Abigail Claire at 11 months:
  • 4 bottles a day, usually something like 6:30, 10:30, 2:00, 6:30. Still no progress on the sippy cup. We have tried and tried, she still bites it and thinks it's a load of fun.
  • Typical meals: bfast - oatmeal or egg yolk and banana; lunch - yogurt and avocado or veggie or pasta and veggies; dinner - protein of some kind and veggies. snack - she still loves Cheerios and then she likes the sweet potato puff things. We have to limit her fruit intake because it causes diaper rash and really has a bad effect on her skin.
  • She has gotten a lot better when we are feeding her her solid foods. For a while, she thought it was play time and made a huge mess, and Mommy and Daddy got really frustrated. She's a whole lot better now though! Still trying to work on putting snacks/food on a baby plate. She picks up the plate everytime and bites it.
  • Basically, she still bites everything. It's hard to get her to play with an educational toy, because all she wants to do is bite it. She has gotten better about it, but seriously every toy goes straight to her mouth. Oh yeah, and her pretty bed no longer looks so pretty because sheets and everything else are covering it to keep her from eating it up like a termite!
  • She has a very short attention span. She will play with the activity table for about 1 - 5 minutes (5 is stretching it), and she's off to something else. Nothing ever lasts long, and she gets bored really easily.
  • She has really been smiling a lot lately, laughing a lot, pointing, waves at herself, goes through stages as to what words/sounds she says, every few days she decides she will have a day where she does nothing but weird things with her tongue.
  • Her hair is coming in blonde. Not dirty blonde, but WHITE. The front still looks dark, but it's the ends, not the roots. I really wanted her to be a brunette, but maybe she will have beautiful white hair like my grandmother.
  • She naps twice a day. She usually goes back down to bed about an hour after waking up, and then naps in the afternoon from about 2 -4 (which is making it very hard to plan her bday party timing!) We are working on moving that naptime up some!
  • She is walking great behind her walker, but looks like Frankenstein when she does it - she doesn't bend her knees - too funny. I have a feeling she will be walking by her first bday.
  • She loves bath time. She shakes in excitement when we sprinkle the water in her tub.
  • She is so much fun, and gets more fun everyday!
  • That's all I can think of for now!!!! Sorry, no picture! Will post it later!
