All about Abbey Claire at 13 months:
- She's walking around everywhere. We are in the process of almost instantaneously making our house ugly with gates all over the place! Seriously, don't bother decorating your house until your kids are teenagers. All lamps have been put up, the furniture is all rearranged, etc.
- She is really mocking us now. She will try to say words that you say and will do different motions that you do as well. (Uh, oh, it's football season - let's hope she doesn't repeat the things that daddy says! haha).
- Some of the words:
"Hu doh" (hush dog);
"Ay Dog" (hey dog - yes she adds the g when she is saying hello to him);
"Baby" (when she sees a picture of herself, she says it);
"bye bye" (which she says everytime I get out my keys or her diaper bag);
"baba" (I finally figured out this was her bottle/sippy);
"ball" (anything round is a ball and she constantly says it);
"Dada" (daddy);
"Mama" (only when she sees a picture of me, not to me in person);
She is trying to say "uh, oh" but it comes out just "uh" when she drops her plate or something.
- The sippy cup situation is A LOT better, but she still gets a bottle first thing in the morning and at night, because otherwise she won't drink it and it's a big mess, especially right now when she has this bad cold.
- Food: she loves it. She was fine with the transition to whole milk, she never seemed to think it tasted different. She loves all food, except she doesn't like chopped up tomatoes, grapes or berries. I think it's the texture. Sometimes she doesn't like scrambled eggs, depends on her mood. (Boo - eggs are my fav!)
- Her hair grows SUPER fast, but she won't keep a bow or headband in for very long. I wish that she would get over this, because hair down in someone's face drives me bonkers!
- She loves Otis; Otis is getting much better with her. Whenever he barks though, she instantly yells at him. Even if she's in her room and he's by the door, she yells. It's pretty funny.
- She is enjoying reading time a lot more. Instead of biting the books, she is actually sitting and looking at them for almost 20 minutes (this is a major accomplishment, folks!)
- She loves sitting in chairs - the rocker at my parent's house and a chair that used to be her cousin Riley's. I think that we are going to get her her own special rocking chair, now that we know she loves them so much!
-She is still obsessed with remotes and cell phones. She now has 2 of our old cell phones and our old Tivo remote to play with.
- She is so funny, and has the best personality. She reminds me a lot of Dennis the Menace though. When you tell her "no" from whatever she is doing, she will put her hands behind her back or rub them together, almost like "hmm, when can I try to do it again?". You can look at her and see her mind working up the next thing she will do.
- I absolutely adore this little girl, and I cannot believe how much she has changed even from last month!!

Early morning with the bottle (she looks so grown up to me, yet still a baby!)
